About Dean
I’ve lived in Limerick my entire life—more than 60 years—and it’s where my family has built our lives. It’s a close-knit community where people look out for each other, and that’s shaped who I am. I grew up understanding that when someone needs help, you step up, and that’s how I’ve tried to live my life. I’m also a parent to six children—four of them adopted—and that’s been one of the most important parts of my life. It’s taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of making sure every person has a fair shot. I’ve also experienced personal loss, which has reinforced just how much family, community, and access to healthcare truly matter.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force, I came home and spent my career with the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles, starting at the counter and working my way up to senior management. That experience gave me a real, practical understanding of how government affects people’s daily lives. I focused on solving problems and making systems work better for the people who depend on them. I also volunteered as an ambulance driver with our local fire and EMS, staying closely connected to the needs of the community.
I’m running because I’ve spent a lifetime in service and I’ve seen how decisions made in Augusta impact everyday people. Too many families are struggling with rising costs, especially housing and childcare. I’m not a career politician—I’m someone who understands these challenges firsthand and is ready to listen, show up, and get to work for this community.
What Matters Most
Housing Affordability
I’m hearing it everywhere: people are struggling to afford a place to live in the communities they grew up in. We need practical solutions that make housing more accessible so young families, working people, and seniors can stay here and build their lives.
Childcare
Childcare is one of the biggest challenges facing working families right now. If we want our communities to thrive, we need to make it easier for parents to work and raise their kids without being stretched to the breaking point.
Supporting Working Families
I’ve spent my life around people who work hard and still struggle to get ahead. We need to focus on real, common-sense solutions that help working families stay afloat and build a stable future right here at home.
Practical Government That Works
I’ve seen how government decisions impact everyday life. We need to focus less on politics and more on making systems work better—solving problems, cutting through frustration, and delivering real results for the people who depend on them.
Rural EMS and Emergency Services
I’ve volunteered with our local fire and EMS, so I’ve seen firsthand how stretched these services can be. In our communities response times and resources can be a matter of life and death. We need to make sure our EMS teams have the funding, staffing, and support they need so they can continue showing up for us when it matters most.
Protecting Heritage Industries & Family Farms
Our local industries and family farms are part of what makes this community what it is. They’re a way of life that’s been passed down for generations. I want to make sure we’re supporting the people who do this work by addressing rising costs and keeping these industries strong for the future.
Keeping Communities Strong
This is a place where people look out for each other, and we need to protect that. I want to make sure our towns remain places where people can afford to live, raise families, and stay connected to their communities.
